Enchanted Rock [Travel]

Enchanted Rock is located approximately 1.5 hours north of San Antonio and 17 miles away from Fredericksburg Texas. Enchanted Rock is a huge granite pink rock that rises approximately 425 feet above the surrounding terrain to elevation of 1,825 feet above sea level. It is the largest pink granite monadnock in the United States.

We have been trying to visit Enchanted Rock for a while, but it was always packed. To avoid the crowds, we decided to go late and catch the sunset. We got there around 4 pm without a problem and sure enough a lot of families, boys scouts, hiking groups and college kids, but it was not as packed as in the mornings.

It was an overcast day, but no chance of rain, so it was perfect. Going up the rock you can see beautiful flowers, lots of birds and big piles of different shapes of rocks. I took lots of pictures. When we got to the summit my boyfriend and I sat down for a few minutes to admire the scenery. I thought it was going to be a long and steep hike, but it was just perfect. It was a lot of fun and a great experience.

If you have the chance of visiting this park, you will not regret it.
Enchanted rock is located at 16710 Ranch Rd 965, Fredericksburg, TX 78624.

Camping at Garner [Travel]

Garner State Park is located in Uvalde County, 1.5 hours away from San Antonio, Texas.
This park is a great place to visit if you like the outdoors, but also like the commodity of electricity and clean bathrooms.  We recently bought some camping gear and decided to make good use of it so we headed to Garner State Park. We wanted to get there early and hike the Old Baldy, but it was so packed that we ended setting up our camp site around 4 and it was too late to hike.

The place was filled with families, kids, pets and young adults. It is fun to see how people bring their Christmas lights and other objects to decorate their camp site. Although it was a little chilly, I saw some kids coming back from the river.

Garner State Park offers many things to do such as:
  • Hiking
  • Tubing
  • Kayaking
  • Bird watching
  • Fishing
  • Biking
The camping grounds provide a pit, electricity, water, clean restrooms and showers.

We were very eager to hike the Old Baldy the next morning, but unfortunately it was raining and very gloomy. We are already organizing our next camping trip and I promise I will take better pictures.

Texas Wine Country [Travel]

A photo posted by Treast (@treastblog) on

As some of you may know, last week was my birthday! So, I decided to celebrate it drinking wine! Texas has beautiful vineyards, located north of San Antonio near Fredericksburg, TX. That area is called Texas Wine Country.  Me and some family members decided to experience the whole wine tour. We went to Grape Creek, which is my favorite vineyard in the hill country.

The weather was perfect! We got there at 1:00 pm and our tour was schedule for 1:30 pm. For $30 you get a tour with explanation, a wine glass and a private tasting. Their wine is delicious! You can become a member of their Wine Club and get wine delivered to your door, every month! Also, they have a trattoria where you can eat, or you can bring your own hors d'oeuvre.

We had a great time! If you like wine and want to learn more about how it is produced, I totally recommend you to visit Grape Creek. It is a great experience. Plus, you will appreciate wine even more!

Staycation [Travel]

Sometimes the best vacations are staying home and relaxing or just going to the new ride at your local amusement park. As some of you may know, I live in San Antonio, home of Fiesta Texas. They recently opened the new Batman Ride, so I had the opportunity of checking it out.

The Batman ride was crazy! It lasted only 30 seconds but they were the longest 30 seconds of my life! If you like excitement and getting super dizzy, this is your kind of ride. I was a little hesitant on going, but once I was there I had a blast!

I had so much fun getting on the rides and almost having a heart attack! A lot of my childhood memories came rushing back to me! Fiesta Texas never gets old, and it is always a great idea.
