Late Lunch Bites [Eat]

A photo posted by Treast (@treastblog) on

During work its easy to lose track of time, especially when you have so much going on. Yesterday was definitely one of those days, I could just feel the stress piling on. When I glanced at my watch and saw it was already 2:30 pm, I realized that I was starving! My friend and I decided to try out this new place in town called Grayze. We arrived just in time to catch their Mid-Day menu.
They have breakfast (7am-10a,m), lunch (11am-2pm), mid-day(2pm-6pm) and dinner menu (6pm-9pm).

We went crazy (don't judge) and literally ordered every item on the Mid-Day menu. This menu seems like a happy hour menu, which include tapas and drinks specials.

We ordered:

  • The Barbacoa Slider
  • The Confit Chiken Banh Mi Slider
  • Ma Frittes [grayze ketchup and aioli]
  • The Mac [gruyere, white cheddar, manchego, fontina, caramelized onions]
  • Baby Iceberg Chock Sally [iceberg, smoked blue cheese, bacon, grilled tomatoes and ranch goddess dressing]

To see complete menu visit: http://www.grayzeongrayson.com/menu.html

Everything was AMAZING, but my favorite was the Chicken Banh, the Ma Frittes and (of course!) the Sangria! I also really enjoyed the complementary sparkling water, so refreshing.

This is a great place that you need to try!

Graze is located at 521 E. Grayson st. It seems like this neighborhood is rapidly developing into a business district.

Cons.
If you are there for lunch during work, you can't drink all the delicious sangria. Bummer!

Barraca Paella & Tapas Bar

Sangria, tapas, paella, churros, great service, awesome atmosphere... I could continue going on of what I liked about Barraca, but it will be better if you experience it on your own!

This week I wanted to try something new, different and nice. I remembered a friend of mine mentioning going to this place and loving it, so I decided to try it too.

They have a small menu, which I love and great wine and beer selection. I started with Mango Sangria and it was delicious.

If you want to try several dishes order tapas (small plates). I recommend the Mejollones, the Empanadas and Queso Frito they are to die for! Also you can not leave without trying the famous Churros. Everything was excellent, I wish I could have kept eating more and try the whole menu. I will definitely go back to try the rest.

On Saturdays they feature Flamenco Nights from 8-10pm. So if you want to have a great time and treat your palate, I recommend Barraca Paella & Tapas Bar. They also have Happy Hour -Tuesday to Saturday from 4pm -7pm.

Barraca is located at 1420 S Alamo St Suite 101 in San Antonio (Blue Star Complex). It is locally owned and managed.
